SPOTLIGHT: MARK CONAWAY

Mark Conaway began his career as an Inside Sales Representative at Independent Pipe in Albany, New York, in November 2021. Prior to joining Independent Pipe, Mark dedicated most of his life to the heavy construction and infrastructure sectors, primarily working as a heavy equipment operator with expertise in operating dozers, excavators, and front-end loaders.

“In his time with Independent Pipe, Mark has embraced a hybrid role within the branch. Whether he’s answering phones, placing orders, assisting colleagues with inquiries, helping customers at the counter, or offloading stock trucks, Mark has demonstrated remarkable flexibility and has become an invaluable asset to our team,” says Eric Pengel, Branch Manager.

Mark adds, “At IPS, I enjoy the customer interactions we maintain at this branch. I also appreciate the problem-solving aspect of my job, where I can help customers find the solutions they need. Additionally, we have a fantastic team here. I look forward to visiting other branches in the future, either to lend a helping hand or to learn from their experiences and customer bases.”

Originally from Colonie, NY, Mark attended Shaker High School and currently resides in Rotterdam, NY. In his free time, he is an avid golfer and bowler. Additionally, he serves as a handyman for a variety of homeowners in the area.
